Laser Treatment in Bangkok
Treat pigmentation, rosacea, acne scars, and wrinkles with four laser technologies matched to each concern.
2.1K+ 5-Star Reviews
Laser treatment uses controlled light energy to target specific components of the skin: pigment (melanin), blood vessels (hemoglobin), or tissue water. That energy can disperse excess pigment, reduce redness, or stimulate new collagen for smoother texture.
No single laser treats every concern. At KKC Clinic we use four technologies: Dual Yellow, CO2, IPL, and Blink.
The comparison below shows how they differ, and the section after matches common concerns to the device we’d typically recommend.

Which Laser Is Right for You?
Your concern determines the device. Here’s what we typically recommend. Your doctor will confirm the approach during consultation.
Pigmentation, Hyperpigmentation, and Dark Spots
Excess melanin beneath the skin’s surface causes dark patches, sun spots, and uneven tone. Dual Yellow Laser uses two wavelengths to break down pigment gently, with no downtime. Blink Laser targets more concentrated spots with short, focused pulses.
Melasma
Melasma is a specific type of pigmentation that tends to recur, so treatment focuses on control rather than a single fix. Dual Yellow Laser is typically the starting point. By targeting the vascular and inflammatory components of melasma, it can help improve pigmentation over a series of sessions.
As with any laser on pigmented skin, post-inflammatory darkening remains possible, which is why your doctor will assess your skin tone carefully and adjust the approach.
Rosacea, Redness, and Broken Capillaries
Persistent redness and visible blood vessels respond well to Dual Yellow Laser’s vascular wavelength. It targets the blood vessels causing the flush without affecting surrounding skin. Most people notice a visible reduction quickly, with minimal redness afterward. Makeup can usually be worn the next day.
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Fractional CO2 laser resurfaces the skin at a deeper level, removing damaged outer layers and triggering collagen renewal beneath.
It works on the face but cannot be used on the neck, where the skin is too thin for ablative treatment.
It’s typically the strongest option for established wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead. Results develop over three to six months as new collagen forms, with continued improvement for up to a year. Downtime is longer: expect seven to fourteen days of peeling and redness.
Acne Scars
Boxcar and rolling scars respond well to CO2 fractional resurfacing, which breaks down scar tissue and rebuilds collagen in the damaged areas. Deeper ice-pick scars often need focal techniques first, with fractional CO2 used to blend surrounding texture. Results develop gradually over several months.

Sun Damage, Uneven Tone, and Dullness
IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target the scattered pigment and mild redness that accumulate from sun exposure. It’s a gentler, non-ablative option with no surface damage and minimal downtime. Over a course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart, IPL gradually evens out tone and restores clarity.
Moles, Skin Tags, and Milia
CO2 laser vaporizes benign skin growths precisely at the surface — no cutting, no stitches. Most growths are removed in a single visit. See mole, skin tag, and milia removal for detail on what we treat, aftercare, and pricing.
Unwanted Hair
For long-term hair reduction on the face or body, we use dedicated laser hair removal technology, which is a separate system from the skin-treatment lasers on this page.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your visit starts with a consultation. Your doctor examines your skin, reviews your concerns and medical history, and recommends the most appropriate device and settings.
Once the plan is confirmed, the treatment area is cleansed. Numbing cream is applied if needed. Gentler treatments like Dual Yellow Laser and IPL usually don’t require numbing. For CO2 resurfacing, numbing sits for around 30 minutes before treatment begins.
During the session, controlled pulses of laser or light energy are delivered to the targeted areas. Most sessions take 30–120 minutes depending on the device and area being treated. You may feel mild warmth, tingling, or a brief snapping sensation.
Afterward, calming skincare is applied and you’ll receive aftercare instructions specific to the device used.
Recovery and Aftercare
How quickly you recover depends on the device. The guidelines below apply across all laser treatments, with device-specific timelines following.
What to Avoid After Laser Treatment
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily and stay out of direct sunlight. This is the single most important step.
- Avoid retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and physical scrubs until fully healed.
- Don’t pick, peel, or scrub treated skin. Let it shed naturally.
- Skip swimming pools and hot tubs for at least seven to ten days after ablative treatments.
- Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers to support the skin barrier.
CO2 Laser Recovery
Expect redness, swelling, and peeling for 7–14 days. Skin may feel warm or tight during the first few days. Your doctor may prescribe antiviral medication, antibiotics, or antifungals to protect against infection while the skin barrier is healing. Strict sun protection is necessary throughout. Results develop over three to six months as new collagen forms beneath the surface, with continued improvement for up to a year.
Dual Yellow Laser Recovery
Mild redness or warmth may appear immediately but typically fades within hours. There’s no peeling or scabbing. Most people return to normal activities the same day and can wear makeup the following day.
IPL and Blink Laser Recovery
Temporary redness, dryness, or light flaking is common and usually resolves within a few days. Treated pigment may darken briefly before shedding. Skin clarity improves steadily over the following weeks.
How Many Sessions You May Need
The number of sessions depends on the concern and the device used. Here’s a general guide. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan after assessing your skin.

Dual Yellow Laser |
1–2 sessions |
Every 6–12 months |
|
Acne marks, melasma, freckles |
Dual Yellow Laser |
3–5 sessions |
Every 3–6 months |
|
Severe or deep pigmentation |
Dual Yellow Laser or Blink Laser |
5–6 sessions |
Every 3–6 months |

IPL |
3–5 sessions |
Every 6–12 months |
|
Post-acne marks (PIH) |
Blink Laser |
5–6 sessions |

Sessions are typically spaced three to four weeks apart for non-ablative treatments. CO2 laser usually requires only one session. Maintenance frequency depends on the condition. For melasma and pigmentation, ongoing sessions help manage recurrence, especially with continued sun exposure or hormonal changes.
Is Laser Treatment Safe for Darker Skin Tones?
Some lasers carry a higher risk of pigmentation changes in deeper skin tones, which is why device selection matters. Not every laser is appropriate for every skin type.
Dual Yellow Laser is generally well-suited for Fitzpatrick III–IV skin types. IPL can be used cautiously in lighter-to-medium skin tones with appropriate filter settings, but is not suitable for very dark skin. CO2 laser can be used across a range of skin types when conservative settings are combined with pre-treatment pigment preparation, test spots, and strict sun avoidance.
Your doctor will assess your skin tone during consultation and recommend the device and settings that minimize risk. If a particular laser isn’t suited to your skin, we’ll tell you directly rather than proceed.
Who Should Avoid Laser Treatment
Laser treatment may not be suitable if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have active acne, infections, or open wounds in the treatment area
- Have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6–12 months (for ablative treatments)
- Are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Have had significant sun exposure or tanning in the past 2–4 weeks
Laser treatment also cannot correct skin laxity or sagging. If looseness is your primary concern, your doctor may recommend a lifting treatment instead.
